Dongip is a personal and group expense tracker that syncs with your bank, auto-categorizes transactions, and lets you share finances with a partner or group—all on a free plan with no credit card required. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, reach out at hi@dongip.app.
Yes. The free plan includes personal expense tracking, custom categories, shared accounts, subscription radar, and basic reports—no credit card required. You can sign up and start tracking in about five minutes.Paid plans are available if you need advanced features like multiple connected bank accounts, unlimited shared accounts, or enhanced reports. You can upgrade at any time from within the app.
The free plan covers everything you need to get started:
  • Personal expense tracking
  • Custom categories
  • Shared accounts (invite partners or groups)
  • Subscription radar
  • Basic reports
Paid plans unlock advanced capabilities such as multiple connected banks, extended report history, and additional shared account features. Check the pricing page in the app for the current breakdown.
Yes. Bank connections are handled by Plaid, a regulated financial data aggregator. A few key points:
  • Read-only access. Dongip can only read your transactions and balances—it cannot move money or make changes to your account.
  • Tokenized credentials. Dongip never sees or stores your bank username or password. Plaid holds a secure token on your behalf.
  • Encrypted in transit and at rest. All data flowing between your bank, Plaid, and Dongip is encrypted using industry-standard TLS.
  • You can disconnect at any time. Go to Settings and remove any linked bank whenever you like.
Dongip does not sell your financial data to third parties.
Absolutely. Bank sync is optional. You can add transactions manually by tapping the add button, entering an amount, and choosing a category. All other features—shared accounts, budgets, reports, and subscription tracking—work without a bank connection.
If you have existing transactions in a spreadsheet, you can import them via CSV from the Reports or Settings area.
Dongip connects to banks through Plaid, which supports thousands of financial institutions across the US and Canada, including major banks, credit unions, and card issuers. To check whether your specific bank is supported, start the bank-linking flow in the app—Plaid’s search will show you right away.
Support for a bank depends on Plaid’s coverage. If your bank isn’t listed, you can still use Dongip by adding transactions manually or importing a CSV.
Subscription radar scans your incoming bank transactions for recurring charges and automatically flags them. When Dongip detects a new recurring payment—like a free trial that turned paid or a service you forgot about—it alerts you so you can review and track it.You don’t need to set anything up. Once your bank is connected, subscription radar runs in the background and surfaces new subscriptions as they appear in your feed.
Yes. You can create a shared account and invite anyone by email. Once they accept, everyone in the shared account sees the same ledger: who paid, who owes, and what’s left. You can have both a personal account and one or more shared accounts at the same time—they stay separate.Shared accounts work well for partners, roommates, or a trip group. Only the expenses you add to the shared account are visible to the other members; your personal expenses remain private.
Open the Reports section and tap the export button. You can export to:
  • CSV — for spreadsheets or accountants
  • PDF — for records or printing
Your data is always yours to take with you.
Yes. You can import a CSV file of past transactions so you don’t lose your history when switching to Dongip. Look for the import option in the Settings or Reports area of the app.
Make sure your CSV includes at minimum a date, amount, and description column. The import screen will walk you through mapping your columns to Dongip’s fields.
You can request account deletion at any time:
1

Go to the deletion page

Visit dongip.app/delete-account or find the option in Settings inside the app.
2

Verify your email

Dongip will send a verification code to your registered email address. Enter the code to confirm.
3

Deletion is processed

After verification, your account and all associated data are deleted from Dongip’s systems, including any linked bank data.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Export your data before proceeding if you want to keep a copy.
Once you confirm account deletion, Dongip deletes your account and all associated personal and financial data from its systems—including any bank transaction data synced through Plaid. Deletion from third-party systems (such as Clerk for authentication and Plaid for bank linking) is subject to their respective policies.Dongip does not sell your data to third parties at any point.
