Is my bank data safe?
Is my bank data safe?
Yes. Bank connections are handled by Plaid, a regulated financial data aggregator. A few key points:
- Read-only access. Dongip can only read your transactions and balances—it cannot move money or make changes to your account.
- Tokenized credentials. Dongip never sees or stores your bank username or password. Plaid holds a secure token on your behalf.
- Encrypted in transit and at rest. All data flowing between your bank, Plaid, and Dongip is encrypted using industry-standard TLS.
- You can disconnect at any time. Go to Settings and remove any linked bank whenever you like.
Can I use Dongip without connecting a bank?
Can I use Dongip without connecting a bank?
Absolutely. Bank sync is optional. You can add transactions manually by tapping the add button, entering an amount, and choosing a category. All other features—shared accounts, budgets, reports, and subscription tracking—work without a bank connection.
What banks are supported?
What banks are supported?
Dongip connects to banks through Plaid, which supports thousands of financial institutions across the US and Canada, including major banks, credit unions, and card issuers. To check whether your specific bank is supported, start the bank-linking flow in the app—Plaid’s search will show you right away.
Support for a bank depends on Plaid’s coverage. If your bank isn’t listed, you can still use Dongip by adding transactions manually or importing a CSV.
How does subscription radar work?
How does subscription radar work?
Subscription radar scans your incoming bank transactions for recurring charges and automatically flags them. When Dongip detects a new recurring payment—like a free trial that turned paid or a service you forgot about—it alerts you so you can review and track it.You don’t need to set anything up. Once your bank is connected, subscription radar runs in the background and surfaces new subscriptions as they appear in your feed.
