Understanding the dashboard
When you sign in, you land on the main dashboard. Here’s what you’ll find:Account switcher
At the top of the screen, you’ll see the name of the account you’re currently viewing — either your personal account or a shared account. Tap it to switch.
Expense feed
The main view shows your recent transactions in reverse chronological order, with categories and amounts. If your bank is connected, new transactions appear here automatically.
Budget summary
Below the feed (or in the Budgets tab), you can see how much you’ve spent against each budget for the current period. Color indicators show when you’re approaching a limit.
Personal vs. shared accounts
Dongip separates your personal spending from shared expenses using distinct accounts. Your personal account is created automatically when you sign up. All expenses you add or import from a connected bank go here by default. Shared accounts are created manually. You give a shared account a name (for example, “Alex & Sam” or “Beach Trip”), then invite other people by email. Once they accept, everyone in the account sees the same transactions, balances, and “who owes whom” breakdown. You can be a member of multiple shared accounts at the same time — for example, one with a partner and one with a roommate group. Use the account switcher to move between them.
Open account settings
Tap the account switcher at the top of the dashboard, then select New shared account.
Name the account
Give it a clear name that makes sense for all members — for example, the names of the people in it or the purpose of the account.
Next steps
Connect your bank
Link a bank account so Dongip can import and categorize transactions automatically.
Set up categories
Create or customize the spending categories that match your life.
