Subscription radar scans your bank feed for recurring charges and surfaces them in a dedicated list—Netflix, Spotify, gym memberships, and any other service that bills you on a regular cycle. More importantly, it alerts you the moment a brand-new recurring charge appears, so free trials, forgotten sign-ups, and price increases never slip past unnoticed.

How subscription radar works

When bank sync is active, Dongip watches for transactions that repeat on a predictable schedule. Once it identifies a pattern—same merchant, similar amount, regular interval—it adds that charge to your subscription list automatically. You don’t need to add subscriptions manually.
Subscription radar requires an active bank connection. If your bank is not connected, you can still add subscriptions manually from the Subscriptions screen.

View your subscriptions

Open the Subscriptions tab to see every detected recurring charge in one list. Each entry shows:
  • Service name and category
  • Billing amount and cycle (monthly, yearly, etc.)
  • Status — active, new, or hidden
The total monthly cost of all active subscriptions is displayed at the top of the screen, so you can see the full picture at a glance.

New subscription alerts

When Dongip detects a recurring charge it hasn’t seen before, it sends you a notification and marks the entry as New in your subscription list. This catches:
  • Free trials that converted to paid plans
  • Services you signed up for and forgot about
  • New recurring charges added to a card without your immediate notice
When you get a new subscription alert, open it and decide: keep it, or cancel it now while it’s fresh. Acting in the first billing cycle costs nothing. Waiting until the third cycle costs three months of charges.
1

Open the notification

Tap the new subscription alert to open it directly in the Subscriptions screen.
2

Review the charge

Check the merchant name, amount, and billing cycle.
3

Decide what to do

If you want to keep it, tap Track to add it to your active list. If you want to cancel the service, do so through the service’s own settings, then tap Hide in Dongip to remove it from your active list.

Manage your subscription list

Track a subscription

Mark a detected charge as actively tracked. It stays visible in your list and counts toward your monthly total.

Hide a subscription

Remove a subscription from the active list without deleting the underlying transactions. Useful for charges you’ve already cancelled or services you no longer want to monitor.

Add manually

Add a recurring charge by hand if it doesn’t come through bank sync—cash payments, international services, or anything on an unconnected account.

View hidden

Access your hidden subscriptions list any time to review or restore them to active tracking.

Shared subscriptions

Streaming family plans and household services often go on one person’s card but benefit the whole household. Add those subscriptions to a shared account so everyone in the group sees them and costs can be split fairly.
See Shared accounts for instructions on adding members and splitting costs.

Frequently asked questions

Some services use varied billing amounts or irregular intervals that are harder to detect automatically. Add those subscriptions manually from the Subscriptions screen using the + button.
Hide the subscription from your active list. Dongip won’t send new alerts for hidden subscriptions.
Subscription radar works best with bank sync active, since it reads from your bank feed. Without it, you can build your subscription list manually, but automatic detection and new-charge alerts won’t work.
Yes. Annual subscriptions are displayed with their annual total and a monthly equivalent so you can compare costs consistently.
