Bank sync eliminates manual data entry by pulling every transaction from your connected bank account directly into Dongip. Once connected, new charges appear automatically, get assigned to a category, and grow more accurate the longer you use the app—no ongoing effort required on your part.Documentation Index

How bank sync works
Dongip connects to your bank through a secure, read-only link. This means Dongip can see your transactions but cannot move money, modify anything, or access your login credentials. Your bank username and password are never stored by Dongip.Bank sync is powered by Plaid, an industry-standard financial data service. Your credentials are entered directly on Plaid’s secure interface—Dongip never sees them.
Connect a bank account
Sign in on your bank's screen
A secure Plaid window opens. Enter your online banking credentials there. Dongip never sees this information.
Auto-categorization that learns
Every imported transaction is automatically assigned a category—Groceries, Transport, Dining, and so on. Dongip tracks which categories you confirm and which you correct, and uses that history to make sharper guesses over time.Automatic import
Transactions appear as soon as they post. No manual entry needed.
Smart categories
Categories learn from your corrections and improve every week.
Multiple accounts
Connect chequing, savings, and credit cards from one or more banks.
Read-only access
Dongip can never move money or change anything in your bank account.
Adding transactions manually
Bank sync handles most transactions automatically, but you can always add an expense by hand—cash purchases, reimbursements, or anything not tied to a connected account. Tap the + button on the Expenses screen to log a transaction manually.Manual transactions and bank-synced transactions live side by side in the same expense list. You can filter by source at any time.
